Most AI resume tools ask you to trust a block of generated text you didn't write and can't fully account for, but reading every word to check it defeats the point of using AI at all. That trade-off is the actual problem, not the tailoring itself.

The resume agent tailors your resume to a specific job through a visible chat, not a black-box button. If it needs to know something about you it doesn't already, it asks all at once (not one nagging question at a time), then proposes edits individually. You accept, reject, or edit each one, with live highlighting in the preview and a warning if a change would overwrite something you already hand-typed. After the pass, you can still make final manual touches directly in the editor: review is a checkpoint, not a lock.
